I like the bass player. There is something about her, but I didn’t know what. Then I hear she is Japanese. I see it now. You can tell that she doesn’t wear shoes on stage. Nice traditional Japanese girl who’s a grunge rocker and has wild hair. Yes!

“Calgon can’t take me away…” My Mom LOVES this song. Partly, because she remembers Calgon commercials from the sixties showing a woman flipping a switch in her Rolls Royce….the floor slid back, and a bathtub appeared, and she had a butt-nekkid, sensual bubble bath (with Calgon crystals, of course). So when my parents got their first (used) Royce, Mom was devastated to find out that there had never been any made with bathtubs. I think this song symbolizes her frustration…
Kinda…riot grrl started being used in the mid 90’s, basically talkin’ about rocker chicks, bein’ able to do their own thing musicwise and not nave to kowtow to the male music establishment. L7….rocks.

Actually, just to set the record straight about this…Courtney Love was famous BEFORE she even met Kurt Cobain.
Courtney’s/ Hole’s “Pretty On The Inside” record was a very big success in the underground punk scene BEFORE people knew who Kurt Cobain was.
TRUE STORY.
